<Nippon-daira Zoo is a sprawling zoo where you can see animals up very close and from all different angles possible!>
There are many attractions, such as one of the largest bird domes in Japan, and a petting zoo where visitors can hold rabbits, baby chicks and other small petit animals. One of the most popular attractions is the hall of fierce creatures, built to reproduce wild environments by using artificial rocks and woods. Polar bears, Amur tigers, Lions, Jaguars, Pumas, and other wild animals live here so that they show you their own natural beings.

Looking at the noble lion through tempered glass, you may suddenly make eye contact with the animal. Staring up at the jaguar lying on wire mesh over your head, you may be surprised when they roll over suddenly.
You never get tired watching how animals behave in the zoo!
Most exhibits are also indoors, so you can enjoy watching animals even it is pouring (or maybe there is a typhoon storming out!).

<動物たちをいろいろな角度から眺めるユニークな動物園『静岡市立日本平動物園』>
ウサギやポニーと触れ合えるエリアや、鳥が飛び交う国内最大級の鳥ドームなど、見どころが多い動物園。なかでも人気を集めているのが、「猛獣館２９９」。擬岩や擬木を使い野生の環境を再現した館内には、ホッキョクグマやアムールトラ、ライオン、ジャガー、ピューマなどが暮らしています。
ここの魅力は、動物たちを間近に、そしてさまざまな角度で見られるということ。ライオンの勇姿を強化ガラス越しに眺めれば、思わず目が合ってドッキリ。頭上の金網越しに寝そべるジャガーをじっと見ていると、突然寝返りを打ってビックリ。そんな猛獣たちの姿を見ていると、飽きることがありません。しかも、屋内施設なので、雨天時も快適な動物ウォッチングが楽しめます。
