<Place for beautiful sight, Opera, Classic Ballet, Concerts, Musicals and more>
The former Shimizu Cultural Center was reborn into Shimizu Cultural Hall in August 2012. The hall also known as Marinart, is a venue with a friendly atmosphere, for citizens to enjoy all kinds of entertainment such as Opera, Classic Ballet, Concerts, Musicals, and so on.
The hall is now a symbolic place of the new town and port of the Shimizu area. It was designed by Maki and Associates（architectural design office） and TAISEI CORPORATION JV (architect cooperative enterprise), in hope to create a cultural space for citizens of Shizuoka to enjoy high quality arts and cultures and help it root to the city. There is a foyer space on the second floor in front of the pedestrian deck directly connected from Shimizu station. Marinart is consisted of a small and a grand hall which are located at the back of the glass-covered facade. This structure makes you feel like going for excursion in the tow, enjoying the sight of the port and that of Mt. Fuji that can be seen through the layer steps and lounge space around the hall.
