<Only One in Japan! Shimizu Sushi Museum!>

Shimizu Sushi Museum opened in 1999, as the first-ever sushi theme park in Japan. In the Museum, townscape of Shimizu Port a century and a decade ago was re-created. There is also “Sushi-Gakudo” in the Museum, a place where you can learn about the various history of the very origin of, and many kinds of Sushi, as well as local kinds of Sushi around Japan. (Directed by Terutoshi Hibino, the president of Shimizu Sushi Museum)


On the 2nd floor, in “Shimizu Sushi Museum” you can learn the history of and culture of Sushi. On the 1st floor, there is a complexion facility of eight sushi restaurants called “Shimizu Sushi Yokochou” in which you can enjoy a variety of styles of Sushi.

Shitamachi-Dori
This represents towns-people culture dating from the Edo period. In Sitamachi-Dori, there are many craftsman stores of daily commodities.

Shukuba-Dori
Shukuba is a posting station for travelers alongside the main road which was structured in the Edo period. In Shukuba-Dori, you can see stores on items needed for traveling such as Geta(Japanese wooden clogs), umbrellas.

<さすが、清水!日本唯一のすし博物館>

1999年に日本唯一のすしの博物館として誕生した「清水すしミュージアム」。館内は、昔ながらの清水の町が再現されています。館内には「鮨学堂」もあり、すしの元祖が日本に伝来してから時代と共に変化してきた歴史やすしの種類、日本全国の地方ならではのすしのことなど、すしについて学ぶことができます。
8店の寿司屋が並ぶ「清水すし横丁」では、様々なスタイルの寿司をお楽しみいただくことができます。

下町通り
江戸時代から始まった下町の町
民文化。庶民の生活に必要な職人の店が多く並びます。

宿場通り
江戸時代に街道が整備され、旅の途中に立ち寄った宿場。下駄や傘など旅に必要なものを
売る店が並びます。
